designTHUNK - Mike Corby and Adam Clark

                                                       Friday, December 4

Please join us for lunch on December 4th for a glimpse into the work of local designers Adam Clark and Mike Corby, AIA.

Architect Michael C. Corby, AIA, LEED AP is design principal of Integrated Architecture, a firm he helped found over two decades ago in his hometown of Grand Rapids.  A recipient of AIA  Michigan's Young Architect of the Year Award, Mike displays his passions and talent in the creation and advocacy of a relevant architectural language:  a sensitive, modern aesthetic crafted in an environmental context.  Under his guidance, IA has garnered 2 international design awards,13 national and 38 state awards, and regional and local awards, including the 2006 AIA Michigan Firm of the Year.

Mike earned his associates degree at GRCC and then transferred to the University of Michigan where he completed a bachelors of science in architecture and a master of architecture from Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

The newest member of the Integrated Architecture design studio, Adam Clark has a significant resume of high-end commercial projects.  That's a good thing, because those are his favorite.  Adam enjoys thinking through the big picture details and dialing down to the critical-design pieces and parts.  He describes his approach as modern, simple, and clean and loves it when the client's vision is the same!  Adam also teaches graphic design in the interior design department of Kendall College of Art and Design.  A LEED-accredited professional, Adam graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lawrence Technological University and earned his master of architecture with high distinction from Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

This event is limited to the first 40 people who register on Eventbrite.  Reservations will be accepted until noon on December 2.  A free lunch will be provided to all students and AIA members ($8 for non-members).  The FSU/GRCC Applied Technology Center (NE corner of Fountain and Ransom) will host us, and free parking is provided at their ramp.  Download specific directions when you register on Eventbrite.  Please arrive promptly at noon.
designTHUNK will not occur in January, but we will be back in February!  Please contact Matt Slagle (mslagle@towerpinkster.com or 616-719-4224) to present, volunteer someone else, or let us know who you would like to see.
